PRP — Platelet-rich plasma

PRP is a biological treatment prepared from your own blood: the growth factors in your platelets are used to support tissue repair. It is used for tendinopathies, mild-to-moderate osteoarthritis and some sports injuries.

Book appointment

When is it indicated?

  • Partial tendon tears
  • Tendinopathies that don't improve with other treatments
  • Mild or moderate knee osteoarthritis
  • Selected sports injuries

What does the procedure involve?

A small amount of your blood is drawn, processed to concentrate the platelets, and injected under ultrasound guidance into the area to be treated. It is an outpatient procedure and you go home the same day.

Frequently asked questions

Is PRP right for me?

Not all cases benefit equally. After assessing you with ultrasound I'll tell you honestly whether PRP is a good option for your injury.
