Ultrasound-guided injections

An ultrasound-guided injection delivers medication (usually a corticosteroid) to the exact point of the injury, guided by ultrasound in real time. Compared with a «blind» injection, gaining precision means more effectiveness and more safety.

When is it indicated?

  • Tendinitis and bursitis that don't improve
  • Joint pain from osteoarthritis
  • Overload syndromes (tennis elbow, etc.)
  • Pain that limits your daily life or your sport

What does the procedure involve?

I locate the area with the ultrasound and, watching the needle on screen at all times, deliver the medication exactly where it is needed. It is a quick, outpatient and well-tolerated procedure; I'll explain the aftercare.

Frequently asked questions

Does an injection hurt?

Discomfort is minimal and brief. Guiding it with ultrasound makes me more precise, which makes it more comfortable and effective than blind injections.

How many injections can I have?

It depends on the case and the area. In the consultation we plan a safe schedule tailored to your situation.
