Tendinopathies: tendon treatment
Tendinopathies are tendon injuries due to overuse or degeneration (Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff, etc.). With an accurate ultrasound diagnosis and the right treatment, most recover without the need for surgery.
Book appointmentCommon symptoms
- Pain localised in the tendon when moving
- Pain at the start of activity that then eases
- Thickening or tenderness to the touch
- Persistent discomfort despite rest
My approach
I assess the tendon with ultrasound and, depending on the case, treat it with therapeutic exercise, ultrasound-guided injections or PRP to stimulate tissue recovery.
Frequently asked questions
Why won't my tendinitis heal?
Sometimes the tendon enters a degenerative phase (tendinosis) that needs specific treatment. Ultrasound helps to know which phase it is in and to choose the best option.
